“Spoil ’em and send ’em home”. This old adage has been around as long as I can remember, referring to the blessing of a grandparent getting to spoil their grandchild while leaving the consequences of said spoiling with the child’s parents. When our daughter was young, Beth and I had season tickets to Razorback football and basketball games, and Hayley would stay with my parents. It was a great bonding time for all of them. Part of the fun of grandparenting is the right to spoil that child and develop temporary amnesia for the word “no”. Many times we would pick our child up late at night, hopped up on chocolate and the sweetest tea known to man.
