多手 Busy Hands

Busy hands
Busy hands
A pair of busy hands

Though busy hands,
Busy being a copycat
Busy in
Observing me closely
Observing grandma closely
Observing grandpa closely
Observing dad closely
Observing helper closely
Then he becomes a copycat

Enthusiastically
Answer the phone
Stir the egg yolk
Touching DVD player
Touching computer
Touching pens
Touching television buttons
Touching sprayer
Smelling my buttock
Opening and banging the fridge door
Turning the stove knob on & off
Switching the fan on and off

Grandpa push up
He imitates the push up imperfectly

Though busy hands
He is full of curiosity
He is a sweet boy
He is a good help
He is a caring toddler.

Confounded in finding the play button
He shows to his confounded dad
The play button.

This poetry began with, “多手 多手多手的幼儿” as I think of my son’s disquieted hands and fingers. Though he often touches things meant for adult, his curiosity makes him into a capable son. Take care of him is the most difficult tasks due to his active exploration and disquieted mouth full of, “Why?”

Jumping Burp

Jump! Jump!
Jumping to the next sofa.
A jumping naked toddler.
Burp! Burp!
Jump! Jump!
Nakedly jump
Jump like a frog.
Jump! Jump!
Burp! Burp!

FREEZE!
Stop jumping.
Change his clothes.

This event also occurs whenever my son is changing clothes. Jumping nakedly on the sofa like a frog.

Slither Zig Zag

Changing clothes

Move to the left

Move to the right

Moving body like a zig zag

As the snakes slithers

As the snakes zig zags its body

Zig zags its body in a curly fashion

He zig zags his body in a curly fashion

As the snakes zig zags its body in a curly fashion.

During changing his clothes, my son refuses to wear his clothes by slithering his body in a zig zag reminded me of a snake’s movement.

Penguin Slide Down

At the playground
Climb! Climb!
Climb the stairs
Take turn to
Slide down the slide

Penguins sliding toy
Climb! Climb!
Climb the stairs
Take turn to
Slide down the slide

On the playground,
Toddlers are the penguins.

As I was accompanying my son to play at a playground and to observe the toddlers climb little staircase to slide down, reminded me of the toy where the penguins climb up the staircase then slide down to the lowest staircase. It is a repetitive cycle. This sum up with the playground result the above inspirations.

Black Hole Pond

Whirling black hole
Sucking in all stuff
Uncountable stuffs
Sucking in endlessly
An Infinite hole

Unending Appetite
Appetite to munch
Yoghurt, biscuits, juice, sweets
At the end of meal time
Munching endlessly
Swallowing endlessly
An infinite stomach
Black hole appetite.

Throw a worm into
A quiet pond
Fishes compete to gulp it
Buy and throw worms into
A quiet pond
Again fishes compete to gulp it
Gulping endlessly
An black hole pond

Feeding my toddler
Throwing worms to the fishes
Both give same reaction.

My toddler loves to eat. Whole day, he has the tendency to ask for sweets, biscuits, yoghurt, juice, and many other things. Though he loves to eat, he doesn’t look fat due to his outgoing personality and often uses up his energy to pull furniture and other does other things. The toys in his hand didn’t last long due to his strength.

My son was eating a white lollipop. We were out for a walk. Upon noticing the white full moon, he related it with his white lollipop. With his remark, the above poetry came progressively.
