Inspiration On: Tuesday, 9 February 2016

Today is a family day to go to bird park with my husband and son. They want to watch the lion dance. The loud clash is enough to repel me from watching it. Its sound is so unbearable until I move behind the crowd and have a sit on a stony bench. If I know, I should have brought the ear plug.

Wish you all have good days and thank you.

The Sun

A well loved bright sky with children play together on the greenery scent of grasses. Grass breeze through the ankles as every feet stomp onto the grasses. Their voices are thrilled with the windy day and the birds on the branches of the trees chirp gladly. Such a nice day for them as they rest on the grasses enjoying

A perfect bright shiny sphere
Shining brightly in the vast blue sky
Cover the dark with light

My imagination played around as I was writing for the Ligo Haibun Challenge titled ‘The Sun’ from Padmini at http://call2read.com/2013/06/15/ligo-haibun-challenge-5/ Do take part if you are interested. Enjoy.

Birds Seek Shelter

Cloudy grey sky drizzles gently
The five birds are on a flight
In a search for shelter

Inspiration On: Thursday, 23 May 2013 at 6:40pm to 7:15pm

It was evening for me to go for a little exercise. Drizzling caught me and I was attracted to the flying birds’ chirp in the sky. Therefore, it began with, “birds on a flight”. Upon reaching home, the other surroundings are captured in words.

Wish to Fly

Deep within me
Wish to be free
Free to fly
Fly like a bird

Like the birds flying
Flying to the sky
Flying in the sky
Sipping in fresh air
. . .

Fly! Fly! Fly!

Inspiration On: Wednesday, 8 May 2013 from 4:01am to 4:11am

This began in me with the line, “deep inside of me” as the words flowed out describing my feelings of being locked like a caged bird. Freelance work isn’t smooth. Struggling to get project. My parents returned to home country then back here. To and fro many times limiting me to go out.

Shine Shine

Shine Shine.
Shine Shine.
Looking down
Looking curiously
Looking excitedly
At his new
Shining sandals
A pair of new shining sandals.

Thrilled by
Shine Shine.
Shine Shine.
Stomp! Stomp!
Stomping to
Let it shine.
Shine Shine.
Shine Shine.

On the way home
He reports and show to a neighbour grandpa.
Upon reaching home
He reports via phone to granny.
When the helper tends him
He reports and shows his new sandal.
So excited with
A pair of new shining sandals.
Shine Shine.
Shine Shine.

Since my son’s sandal is tight, his dad and I brought him out to buy a new sandal. Not much choice with the sandal size. Only a pair of red angry bird sandal is size 29 suitable for my 33 months toddler. Surprisingly, after we bought it, the sandal shined. My son was intrigued and always stomped his feet in order to see its little light effect.

21 Months Old Toddler

Jump onto the chairs
Removing curious stuffs on table.
Pulling cables
Playing the fans buttons
Pressing remote controls
Running to the kitchen
Pulling utensils out of the cupboard
Imagining cooking
Imitating people cook

Pluck out the cube blocks
Pluck in the cube blocks

Banging toys onto the floor
Wow, the loud sound.

Wriggling on the floor
Shouting to go out
Wanting to observe more

Pulling the petals of flowers
Catch a butterfly
See its smallness and beauty
Then let it go

Chasing a bird
Chasing a cat
Chasing a dog
Touching rabbit
Pulling the tails
Stomping onto ants
Scared by the cockroach
Disgusted by the hairy legs

All is done because I’m curious
SPANK
But I’m spanked by my parents
for not listening.

Throughout accompanying my 21 months old toddler, the above inspiration came as I try to understand him by putting myself in his shoes. “Pulling the tails” is an addition because I feel that one day my cute baby will do so.
