As Sticky As

As sticky as a sticker
Sticky body with
Sticky hands
Sticky neck
It is
The leftover of
A dried perspiration.

As sticky as a glue
Sticking his body parts
Sticking his hands
Onto me
Onto his dad
So sticky like a glue
Such a pungent smell
Enough to faint you
With crossed eyes.

Like A Sandwich

Like a sandwich being stuck
In between two arguers causing fret to
The peacemaker one hoping peace.

Like a sandwich being protected
From both side of the traffic roads
During crossing the zebra cross.

While I was bringing my toddler out with my husband, the word sandwich came to my mind when both of us held his hands to cross the road. Then the feeling of being stuck during arguments between families and friends occurred upon the middle man who is trying to resolve the issue.

The poetry began with, “Stuck in between like a sandwich. Protected from both sides like a sandwich.” before it is being revised into haiku.
