Eager Mini-Helper

A plastic bag full of papers
Willingly to throw onto
The stacks of old newspapers
Pulling out pieces of paper
Stack it up onto the newspapers
My helper needs my intervention
Specifically intervene his task
Stack the plastic bag onto
The stacks of old newspapers
Will do

I was clearing the documents and removing those older ones. My family have the habit to keep paper and dispose it at the appropriate place. My son loves to help around.

Jealous Baby Boy

Just a few countable words to grandma
He grabs grandma’s left hand swiftly
His uncle pretends to grab grandma’s right hand
Whining and grabs grandma’s hand stronger
Whining angrily
Impatiently waiting for his uncle to leave grandma
Nobody can replace grandma
Grandma only belongs to him
Grandma is his only
He won’t share her to anyone

Grandma goes out with grandpa
He wailed whiningly
As a sign of disagreement
Grandma only belongs to him
Grandma is his only
He won’t share her to anyone

Instead, he loves his aunt very much
Picks up the telephone
Dial randomly
Speaking imaginatively to his aunt
Anticipating of her visit zealously

On the playground
A toddler older than him hold his dad
He instantly snatches his dad
He disagree instantly for me to be with that toddler
Pissed of that toddler
Target that toddler among others
Whenever that toddler fills the basket with colourful ball
Quietly he presses the button
The button to throw the colourful balls out of the basket
To let that toddler’s collected ball flows out
Repetitively he does so
And continuously does so
Without rest
With a revengeful smile
Oh, that toddler is a boy

Seems that my son is jealous of his grandpa and uncle (my younger brother), particularly towards boy and men. He is extremely close to his grandma and loves her the most. That grandma is my mother. He slept beside her from second months to eight months before transferred to his cot. Is this a phase of a toddler’s life? But he is not jealous of my elder sister (his aunt). In fact, he loves her and listens to her more than me.

First to third stanzas are everyday events, but the playground case was the most recent case. I left the playground for toilet after the snatching event. When I returned, I was puzzled of my son to continuously pressed the throw ball button quietly. Upon reaching home, my husband told me what happened when I left the playground for toilet. Though he is a sweet and caring boy, I can’t believe of my son’s jealousy.

Baby Game

Gladly, he smilingly passes
A pillow to me
Analogy as a baby
The baby he wants
Slot into his shirt
Meaning he is pregnant
Then slot it out
Meaning baby births out

Question me how to
Pour in milk powder
With his one and
Only water milk bottle
Going to open it
My response is to
Use imagination to pour
Milk powder into his
Only water milk bottle
Next, he opens his
Water milk bottle to
Feed the baby (pillow)

My mind wonders around
Then question him curiously
Does he want me
To have another baby?
His nods with yes
He wishes to have
A sibling, a sister

Night fills the sky
Two penguins soft toy
Slot into his shirt
Meaning he is pregnant
Then slot it out
Meaning baby births out
Taking water milk bottle
Feed them with his
Only water milk bottle
As the penguins repetitively
Taking turns to be
Slotted in, slotted out
Pregnancy and giving birth
In a continuum process
Letting the baby sleep
On his new bed

Beginning his own new game that I never know. As I recalled, he ever questioned how he existed. My reply was he stayed in my stomach then birthed out as a baby and wailed. A few times, he repeated this. Unexpectedly, today, he plays this game and shocks me. And my guess is correct. What do you all think?

Wavy Ruler

Found
A fifteen centimetre ruler
With wavy shape at
Its lower line
Grab onto it

Scritch! Scratch!
Scratching his itchy hair
Brush! Brush!
Combing his hair

My son used ruler to brush his hair. The lower ruler had a wavy shape so he interpreted it as comb.

Warm Hug

In the morning
A sweet voice
Wakes me up
We begin the
Day with prayer

First time to
See him climb
To my bed
Lie beside me
Seeking to hug
We hug together
This delight me
Warmth fills atmosphere
Warmth feelings fill
Inside my heart
And I think
Warmth feelings fill
In his heart

My heart was delighted for my son to climb out of his bed towards my bed. This is the first time for him to do so. Warmth filled the atmosphere. Then he left the room for milk.

Colourful Markers

Colour his finger nail
Looks like coloured fingernail
Dashing around the house
Reporting to everyone
Showing to everyone
His beautiful artistic skill
To paint fingernail
With
Colourful markers

Pink markers on his
Pointing fingernail
Looks good
Looks beautiful
Shaming me
As a lady
Who
Doesn’t
Paint
My own
Fingernails.

While I was accompanying my mum to watch television programme, I let my son to use colourful markers to draw on paper. Unexpectedly, he coloured his finger nail with the pink marker. Thank God, the marker was cleaned when he washed his hands.
