Tongue’s Traffic Light

Red light appears
Brake tongue pedestal
Time to keep quiet
Red light dispels

Orange light appears
Slight brake tongue
Time to warn confidant
Orange light disappears

Green light appears
Running tongue
Ticking with certain time
Short period to express words
Before green light hides

Return to orange light
Back to red light

The idea of keeping our mouths quiet at a period of time prevents us from coming trouble. And the time to warn those who needs warning and when to say out our opinions. Traffic light seems that the best analogy and metaphor. Upon writing it down, the above poetry flowed out of my imagination.

Hidden Among

Dropped coins
Hidden among bushes
Gems
Hidden among mountains
Needle
Hidden among haystacks
A bunch of keys is
Hidden among where?

Words had been echoing in my mind, “Hidden among bushes” and “Hidden among mountains”. Gradually, more words flowed out letting my imagination and analysis flourish. Needle in a haystack echoed to me.

Hide and Seek

Hiding
Hiding behind
Hiding behind the large pole.

My son and I see him
My son and I fast walk
To the large pole
His dad disappears
We are stunt!

Sudden
JUMP!
With an opened palm
With an opened mouth
My son
My son SHRIEKs in LAUGHTER.

When my husband and I were bringing our toddler home from the nearby mall, my husband did the above inspiration to play with our son and he was shocked.

Blanket Game

Wholly covered in the blanket
Together with his dad
Hiding from me.

His dad grabs my wrist
Instigating his son to
TICKLE me!
A swift tickle
Tickling me!

Pointing my finger to his
Neck, waist, thigh.
Tickle him.
TICKLE him!
He laughs hysterically.
TICKLE his dad!
His dad laughs hysterically.

And it is a repeated cycle
Until they removes the blanket.
The end of blanket game.

Shrouded with Mystery

Dark shadow covers his face
Sitting on the glass armchair
Shrouded with mystery
Giving out mysterious aura
Intriguing curiosity
Basking interest
Though protecting
True identity
Feeling shy
Among crowds.
Hiding in the shadow
Hiding in the corner
Loneliness inside.

When I was imagining people with multiple identities, three words were ringing in my head, “shrouded with mystery.” The next day, other words flowed out and revised. Finally, the first and second lines are added to explain the picture in my mind.

Can’t Take It Anymore

These past few days, the weather is very hot.
Bathing only helps temporarily. Why?
Because after the nice cooling shower,
My whole body perspires again.
And sticky some more.

Unbearable!
I really …
Can’t take it anymore.
Really, really
Can’t take it anymore.

I’m going to hide in the library.
It is the only shelter from the hot sun.

But … but…
Walking towards the library
Let the sun to scorch me again.
I feel like a worm running towards a shelter.

Reaching the library is the most comfortable place.
Forget the scorching sun.
The cooling atmosphere makes me feel comfortable.
Wow!
I can concentrate and get inspiration.
Great!
Can’t take it anymore!
I’m fired up to put my inspiration into actions.
