Era

Now is the
Era of machines
Era or technologies

Normal phone
Transform into
A smart phone

Normal television
Transform into
Internet television

Manual labours
Transform into
Robotic labours

Multiple office responsibilities
Are entrusted to
Fewer employees

Strong moral values
Decline into
Low moral values

Strong mentality
Decline into
Weak mentality

Who is in charge?
Technology dictates human?
Human is in control of technology?
Who is the slave?
Do inner core values or physical attributes reigns?
Decrease in employment rate?
Who will we account to at the end of our lives?

This poetry births out through observing and comparing olden days and current days. Terry Shepherd and Kenneth confirms this in their blogs – Do You Want to Voice Your Opinion? and The proposal ended it really. This is a very important questions we need to ask ourselves.

Mobile Phone Camera

Facing camera lens of mobile phone
Fingers brush over golden dyed hair
Tidying his hairstyle
To look cool and presentable

Mirror is frozen at home
As mirror sleeps waiting
The return of its owner
Lonely of its master’s touch

Old things are cast aside and discarded
New stuff constantly goes along
Until it fades into old and rusty
With another new one replaces its current status

A man was sitting beside me looking at himself using his iPhone camera lens as mirror to tidy his hair. This intrigues me to write poetry then second stanza enters my imagination with third stanza is my conclusion.

To and Fro

During 20th century
Walk to and fro
To and fro
The whole house
Climbing up and down the stairs
Looking for
Up and down
Questioning for
A bunch of keys
And
A pair of spectacle.

Entering 21st century
Walk to and fro
To and fro
The whole house
Turning left and right
Looking for
Right and left
Questioning for
A bunch of keys
A pair of spectacle
And
A mobile phone.

What’s more in 22nd century?
Do we forget more?

Living in a vast land, most houses are landed houses. Living in a small country, most land is filled with high rise houses. My mother is a funny example who often looks for her keys and spectacle. Olden days, we didn’t know and nobody used mobile phone. Now, she uses mobile phone so it is in one of her search list. Then I also reflected upon it that it does happen to me and maybe everyone.

Creativity

How do you define creativity?
Seems that
It is something done no one ever think of.

Fresh ideas implemented.
As time pass by
It is no longer considered creative.
It is considered norm.
It becomes obsolete.

Another idea keeps on
Popping out and implemented
Then obsolete again.

Just like a mobile phone.
In olden days, there are no such things as mobile phone.
But now, mobile phone is considered common.

Other kinds of new gadgets
Always come and go
The cycle always continues.

This inspiration comes as I compare today’s society with olden days especially during my young times living without mobile phone. The reason to give the title “Creativity” is in my young times, the creation of mobile phone is considered creative. Wherever you go, it is so easy to communicate with people without looking for a telephone booth.
