Prevention is better than cure

Prevention is better than cure
Mostly quoted idiom
Very few people mean it
Most people quote it so well
The fact is few people really care

Once the weaker ones
Speak out
Highlight
Seeking help

The stronger ones
Put it down
Push it aside
Overlook it

Refuse to stretch out
Their hearts, feet and hands
Forget the idiom
Prevention is better than cure

As the weaker ones
Welling tears dry up
Tired of speaking
Hitting the head against the wall

Until a truly caring person
Willingly stretch out help to the weak
Who attempt to stand up again
The weak faces all disadvantages

Needing the Saviour’s intervention
Who gives many opportunities
Through the people who truly reach out
To the weak to stand up

Lately, I am pissed off with someone who quotes, “prevention is better than cure”. However, when someone is slightly sick, he/she is being chided for making noise. Therefore, I feel the person who speaks it out is contradicting. Wish you all have good days and thank you.

Wind Scatter

A strong blow of
Wind scatters
Torn pieces
Of papers

A huge blow of
Circular wind breaks
Many concrete houses
Beware of impending natural disasters

My helper was woving my brother’s pants with mini-knitting machine. His pants were too long for him. Hence, she needed to cut the extra cloths then knit it. A sudden strong wind scattered the cutted small pieces of cloth and dirty the floor.

This poetry births out through observing and comparing olden days and current days. Terry Shepherd and Kenneth confirms this in their blogs – Do You Want to Voice Your Opinion? and The proposal ended it really. This is a very important questions we need to ask ourselves.

Heartache

Gripped with emotions
Mind goes blank
Crippled with a strong waves of hurts
Waves of hurting words
Envelops and squeeze my heart
Heart aches
Tears drip uncontrollably
Hiding in a corner
Hurting my integrity

Arguments occurred between my brother and mother then she with me regarding air ticket printing for my cousin. My mothers’ relatives often take her for granted. Whenever there is problem, she is always asked for help. But they didn’t look for her when there is no problem. I have been wondering why do people take my family for granted? My brother is pissed off. Every time the ticket printing is passed to me last minute. It didn’t mean my printer always have ink. My dad intercepted our arguments. Even shoot remarks that we would leave them alone when they reach old age. That hurts me a lot because I have set in my heart to take care of my parents till death do us part. No matter what arguments, my decision to care them is final. My heart and mind hurts a lot for my dad’s words who is stoistic of his own opinion and presumption.

Switching off the light, but switch on the night light preventing my son from seeing my cry and kissed him goodnight. My husband had slept. In the middle of the night, my mother opened my room door and comforted me to just brush dad’s words aside. After back home from work and shower, I felt sleepy. But after the quarrel, I couldn’t sleep until 2am midnight and crying to my Lord and Saviour.

Spray

Carrying around
The house
Jumping around
The sofa
Dashing around
The house
Climbing around
Metal doors
Chasing after
Grandma
Grabbing after
Colourful pictures

Heartbeat races
Adrenaline rush
Shouts of joy
Perspires unceasingly

Joining his grandma
Into her room
Meddling cosmetic drawer
Holding onto
Perfume bottle
Grandpa intervenes to
Stop him from
Dropping it
But

Spray! Spray!
Spray onto left armpit
Spray! Spray!
Spray onto right armpit
Surrender perfume bottle

Desiring to eliminate
Strong odour
Coming out of
Armpits

The poetry written by Busy Mind Thinking about obsession at http://busymindthinking.com/2013/06/18/obsession/ reminded me of this poetry. This poetry is about the time my son was around two years old who knew that his armpits were smelly due to perspiration. Entering his grandma’s room, he meddle her drawer full of cosmetics. Within the cosmetics, he unknowingly grabbed onto a perfume bottle. The alarmed grandpa shouted at him to put the perfume back. Upon knowing it is a perfume, he instantly sprayed it onto his armpits. An angry situation turned into humour. Grandparents had a good laugh. At night, my helper narrated this event.

Motherhood

LOUD
STRONG
WAIL
Project out of the delivery room

A baby is born
His first cry
Enter my ears
Cuddle him
Provides warmth

Life with baby seems rough
Giving him full attention
Stay with him while he cries
Connect us with
Love
Affection
Understanding

The more I care him
The more he calms down with my presence
The more he communicates calmly
Though not all the time

Upon reaching motherhood phase of life, I search through books and attempt to apply it. Some methods are successful, but some methods are not applicable. So I’m still learning and agree with some of the theories.

Active vs Passive

Quiet people seems passive
Passive in activities
Passive in conversations
But active listeners
Passive in parties
Bored to be with
Few close friends
Outwardly look weak
Being physically passive
Gives them energy
But active in deep thinking and analyzing
Think before talk

Outgoing people seems active
Active in activities
Active in conversations
But passive listeners
Active in parties
Fun to be with
A lot of friends
Outwardly look strong
Being physically active
Brings them energy
But passive in deep thinking
Talk without thinking

Are you active or passive?
There is an active part in a passive people
There is a passive part in an active people
Nobody is perfect
Learn and improve from our own weakness
Respect each others’ personality differences
We are dependent upon each other
Complementing each other
As couples complement each other’s weakness
As family members complement one another
Why do we focus on other’s weaknesses?
Why can’t we see each other’s strength?
Nobody is perfect
We are not perfect
We are imperfect, but are work in progress

Most of the time, there are two categories of people either extrovert or introvert. I realized I belong to the latter upon reading personality book. My friends and even my husband ever said the same thing. They want to vomit blood whenever I asked them to repeat a few times because I often want to understand their words by listening to it.

KiLL

Swords kill
Drugs kill
Words kill
Secrets kill
Truths kill
Fear kills
Earthquake kills
Mountain blast kills
Flood kills
Earthquake kills
Mountain blast kills
Hurricane kills
Strong Wind kills
Lightning kills
Low temperature kills
Freeze kills
High temperature kills
Magma kills

Kill physical bodies
Kill hearts
Kill minds
Kill into the core of beings
Kill feelings
Kill self-image
Kill self-confidence
Kill determination
Kill purpose of living.

Why can’t we take care
Take care the words
The words coming out
Coming out of our
Tongue and mouth?

Attempting Mouth Kissing

Two hands
Fingers of both hands
Are
Clasping
Holding tightly
Wringing
Around her neck
With his legs clasp her waist.

Attempting to
Go near her face.
Attempting to
Kiss her mouth.
Where she holds him further
Attempting to
To prevent him
To prevent his rounded lips
From kissing her mouth.

Door creaks
Door opens
Fingers loosens grip
With failed attempt
Mission fails!
Quietly learn from rebuke.
While she gasps for breathe
Speaks such a strong grasp.

Days pass,
He resolves
He answers
He wants
To have a wife.
Laughter burst out
Amused of speech.
He laughs ear to ear.

A few days ago, my son was trying to kiss the helper’s mouth by holding her neck. She told me what happened when I was in the room for a while. I understand that he was curious about kissing though normally he kisses his soft toys. But I guided him not to do mouth kissing towards anyone and even his helper.

Growing Up

Growing up
Getting taller
Growing up
Getting heavier
Growing up
Getting stronger

Growing up
Larger mouth
Increasing appetite

Growing up
More understanding

When I carried my toddler from the floor to the sofa, my toddler’s weight is much heavier than before. He is 15 kilograms now and the word “Growing Up” is speaking to me.
