Eat Vegetable

Good
Essential for health
Best to eat

Grab a bite
Yucks!
Bitter!
But . . .
Forcing myself
To gulp vegetables
On my plate

Day by day
Year by year
Live with such taste
But . . .
At my twelfth year
My tongue doesn’t taste
Bitter vegetables

The fresh leafs of vegetables
Reaps delicious taste
Rich feelings of enjoyment
Crushing vegetables with my teeth
Tasting every pieces of it passing by my tongue
Before entering the throat

Upon interacting with Y Prior, Be With Us, Sharmishtha Basu and Toni Andruikitas about their vegetables consumption experiences (at my Body & Stomach Needs poetry), it struck me to tap upon my younger age experiences in vegetables.  It is a memorable event. Thanks to them for bringing out my memories. Wish you all have good days and thank you.

A pair of speedy hands and feet
Runs swiftly

This poetry was triggered during conversation dinner with my husband. I shared how our 35 months son sneakily stealed a Milo drink packs from our snack box.

Piling Foam Stage

Piling foam numbering pads
He climbs onto it
Treating it as the stage
Melodious songs come out of his tongue
Changing the lyrics of the songs
Making fun of the songs
Bring laughter in everyone’s hearts
Followed by many clapping

Bowing of thankfulness
At the end of his
Singing performance
Standing on the
Piling foam numbering pads
Then step down

After my 39 months son brushed his teeth, he exploded to singing using the piling foam numbering pads as his stage. My parents and I enjoyed his good singing voice.

Tongue’s Traffic Light

Red light appears
Brake tongue pedestal
Time to keep quiet
Red light dispels

Orange light appears
Slight brake tongue
Time to warn confidant
Orange light disappears

Green light appears
Running tongue
Ticking with certain time
Short period to express words
Before green light hides

Return to orange light
Back to red light

The idea of keeping our mouths quiet at a period of time prevents us from coming trouble. And the time to warn those who needs warning and when to say out our opinions. Traffic light seems that the best analogy and metaphor. Upon writing it down, the above poetry flowed out of my imagination.

嘴巴不停 Racing Mouth

嘴唇动
动作呢?舌头不停
行动呢?

口多声
行为呢?

爱需不需要行动呢?
关怀需不需表现出来呢?
难到生活只是说话呢?

Moving lips
Where are actions?Unstoppable tongue
Any taken actions?

Noisy mouth
Is it put into actions?

Is love without loving actions?
Is care without caring actions?
Is life full of words?

Some people talk too much, but not a doer. Recently, I met one. I do feel upset and keeps quiet. Commanding me to do instead of showing it to me by example. Afterward, she just lazed around. I bring this to my Lord and seek Him to enable me to forgive, be patient, and His wisdom to return the tasks to her gently. My family have the tendency to live by example rather than talking. So I dislike those who talk too much and do nothing. Such experience birthed out this poetry.

Tears of Hurt

Tears of grief
Tears of hating conflict
Tears of dislike to hurt
The need to confront
Someone who brags
Someone who lies
A jealous filled person
Driven by green eyes heart
My heart hurts for her
Before speaking to her
But without confront her lies
The more she stirs and messes my house

O Lord, You have heard
Heard her lies
You have heard my confidant’s advice
O Lord, You have heard Sennacherib’s blasphemies
You have delivered King Hezekiah from Sennacherib
Please, O Lord, deliver me from this braggart
Please, O Lord, guide my speech
Please, O Lord, rescue me from this mental anguish
Please, rescue me
Save me from this dilemma
Please tell me what I should do, O Lord
Her words are killing everyone
Her words are destroying everyone
I don’t want her to destroy my family

O Lord, I beseech Your guidance
For I trust in Your deliverance

My friend called and shared to me and asked me to write for her and ask what she should do. Though I was speechless, I put myself in her shoes, birth me this poetry. I feel speechless. This is her story, “The song ‘I Surrender’ by Celine Dion spoke to my heart and my tears of grief overflows to my Lord seeking His deliverance. Though I dislike the liar’s speeches and actions, the desire not to hurt her was laid bare to my Lord. My confidant suggested to me that it was time to confront the guest before the situation got out of hand. Those who disapprove her lies are my neighbour, helper and even a weekday beverage deliverer. But I still believe in God’s wisdom and Hand of guidance. My mind and heart is confused in what I should do.What should she do? Your feedback is most appreciated.” This reminded me of 2 Kings 18:12-37 where King Hezekiah cried to the Lord of host.

Sandwich Life Sanctuary

Pressed tightly from both sides
Pressed from Left and right
Or
Pressed from Up and down
Heart turns to pancake
Mental anguish
Hurting inside
Hot inside
Clenching fists
Internal anger blasts out
Hurting tongues and everyone.

Protected from both sides
Protected from Left and right
Or
Protected from Up and down
Hearts feel protected
Mentally healthy
Safe inside
Love dwells
Inner peace radiates
Inner love reaches out to
Heal the hurting hearts.

Two extremes of family life.
Do we do so?

Whenever I crossed the road with my husband and son, we let our son at the middle. This generally is a good safety. Suddenly, this concept also let me relate it with pancake. Pancake is baked where the liquid is poured onto a molten plate then presses it with another molten plate. It hurt my Tongue if I eat hot food and drinks. The idea of pancake is likened to people who lived in a difficult position. Anger may set in and dwells in those people if they are not careful with their hearts. It is too much for the people who give such people a hard time especially between spouse and in laws, between divorced couple. Mental anguish and depression is great for the one being the sandwich especially children.

At the Sight of Cakes

At the sight of cakes
Sense of repulsion occurs
Heap of stones in stomach
And my tongue trembles wavely
Followed by downward curve lips

Oh, I’m trying to run away from the cake shop.

Almost everyday, whenever I bring my toddler out he often goes to the cake shop to buy cakes such as pandan cake rolls, fruit cake rolls, waffles, and many other cakes available in the shop. Yesterday was his second birthday celebration and my family have been eating his birthday cake until today. Therefore, when my husband and I bring our beloved toddler to the nearby shopping centre upon seeing him leading us to the cake shop, my husband and I immediately left the cake shop with me telling him that he had seen the cakes and the one at home is not finished yet.
